Tajikistan became full member of the Eurasian Development Bank on 22 June 2009 by paying up its share in the Bank’s charter capital. At present, the Bank considers a project to build a modern cotton processing plant in Tajikistan. A number of other projects which are important to the country’s economy are in the pipeline.
Tajikistan’s joining the EDB will assist the expansion of trade and economic co-operation with other member states, implementation of anti-crisis measures by the Tajik Governments, and improvement of the country’s socioeconomic situation.
