The project is planned to be implemented on a site of 485.41 hectares, 0.8 km below the confluence of the Naryn and At-Bashy rivers, 40 km west of the city of Naryn — the administrative centre of Naryn Oblast. The Kulanak HPP will be a derivation-type plant with an installed capacity of 100 MW and an average annual power generation of 435 million kWh.
