Project overview

KEGOC JSC is the national company performing the functions of system operator and operator of Kazakhstan's main electrical grids. The company provides services for the transmission of electrical energy, technical dispatch management and the organisation of balancing of electricity production and consumption in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The project envisages the Bank's participation in the acquisition of KEGOC bonds to finance the issuer's investment programme and general corporate purposes. Within the investment programme, two projects are planned: "Reconstruction of 220–500 kV Transmission Lines at KEGOC JSC Branches (Phase 1)" and "Strengthening of the Western Zone Electrical Grid of the Unified Energy System of Kazakhstan. Construction of Grid Infrastructure". The implementation of these projects will restore the technical characteristics of transmission lines, improve the conditions for electricity transmission for a period of at least 30 years, and enhance the reliability of electricity supply in the Western Zone of the UES of Kazakhstan.
